Recommendation for the "Splendid Table" radio program hosted by Lynne Rossetto Kasper. In particular, I like her articles about techniques & ingredients.

Set a “Splendid Table”

I have enjoyed listening to Lynne Rossetto Kasper’s “Splendid Table” radio program (from American Public Media). She offers great insights of cooking that are not generally provided on the TV cooking shows. Listening to her program is like sitting in on a class in a culinary school.

The program’s website has links to allow you to listen to past shows. There are also links to recipes and other good stuff. One of the best pages is called “Boiling Water 101” and includes a list of articles where Lynne “answers culinary questions on everything from how to brine a turkey to recommendations on storing fresh herbs.” She has articles on Equipment - Ingredients - Techniques - Miscellaneous.

Overview of this site. We offer a venue for sharing the best recipes that we USE.

This site is all about sharing recipes for good food.

We have ‘em – you get ‘em

You have ‘em – you share ‘em

We all eat better!

The number of recipes featured here will always be “small” compared to the big recipe sites like http://www.food.com/ or similar. However, the recipes that we feature will be the ones *WE* use.

In particular, the recipes that my family will present here are recipes that we have gathered over the past 50 years of life in the South. Most of our foods have a distinctly “Cajun” or “Southwestern” flavor. We also cook a lot of Old South (Mississippi) foods. I hope you enjoy them all. If so, please leave acomment or a “Like.”
